Winter Travel Important Notice

Winter tours in Mongolia are unique and unforgettable, but the weather and remote conditions can change quickly. Please read carefully and prepare with flexibility.

⚠ Weather-related warnings

  • Heavy snow and strong wind may cause route changes, delays, or waiting time on the road.
  • Road closures can happen in remote areas; the itinerary may be adjusted for safety.
  • In such cases, tour payments are generally non-refundable because transport and service costs are already committed.

Infrastructure limitations in countryside

  • Outside cities, facilities can be limited: toilets, showers, and hot water may not always be available.
  • In winter, water pipes may freeze and showers can be restricted. Electricity/heating may follow a schedule.
  • Bring a power bank; charging options may be limited in camps and remote areas.

🧠 Mindset & preparation

  • Expect a real nature-based experience (taiga, steppe, mountains) β€” not the same as city travel.
  • Dress in layers; avoid cotton for base layers, and use windproof outerwear.
  • Follow the guide’s safety instructions closely during outdoor activities.
